NEONATAL JAUNDICE AND IT’S TREATMENT

Usually 2-3 day after Birth, Yellowness on face appears which can be Recognized by pressing over the Tip of Nose under Sunlight. This Yellowishness Disappears automatically within 3-4 days but incase it does not Decrease then……….:

1. Expose the Baby to early morning Sunlight without clothes keeping Eyes and Genitalia covered with small cloth for ½ an hour (initially in supine then in prone position). Incase Yellowness does not Decrease or rather Increases then give ½ teaspoonful juice of Punarnava and Apamarga Roots twice daily adding Sugar in it.
2. In case above Treatment does not work with in 2-3 days or Yellowness had Appeared since Birth, Consult the Physician immediately.
